You’ve visited all the bridal shops in Essex and found ‘The One’ for you, however the price is a sticking point? So you google the dress and come across a picture of it on a site offering it to you for £100 in a 4-6 week turn around. Wow, too good to be true, right? Yes it is too good to be true! A dress worth £1500 in the shop, simply isn’t the £100 dress that you will receive from an online company.
It’s highly likely that it is a fake imitation of the dress! Counterfeit dresses are a huge problem in the bridal industry as the images used are illegally taken from the original designer’s website. The makers of the imitation dresses have never even seen the dresses in person and simply do not know how the structure of the dress is made or what fabric they are made with. Often any beading or pearls that are on a dress are replaced with cheap sequins, and underskirts are completely left out so they do not hang like they should do!
So what seems like a cost saving exercise, ends up with a disappointed bride having to spend out for the real thing! It’s your one big day that you get to wear a big white dress, why buy a fake one?!
