November was an exciting time in the shop. Our list of brides joining the Turner and Pennell family steadily increased and my own big day on the 16th was drawing near.
The day of the wedding arrived and it was a crisp, sunny November morning. We arrived at the Roslin Hotel in Thorpe Bay at 12 and the afternoon flew by as the hair and make up artists worked their magic and the flowers, cake and other decorations were being prepared downstairs.
I could not have felt more special or have had a nicer day. Nerves did get the better of me as I walked into the room but these were quickly calmed by a jolly registrar and a relaxed atmosphere.
I decided not to have bridesmaids but Ian’s grandchildren made for gorgeous flowers girls and page boys. The girls were dressed in Disney Fairy Tale Blossom dresses with hair halos made by Delicate Daisy and wands by Flowowers. And the boys suits were hired from Anthony Formalwear. We were delighted to have honoured Ian’s latest grandchild, Isla present at less than two days old.
We quickly hit the champagne after the ceremony and caught up with friends and family, some of which traveled from France and Tenerife. We also hired two close up magicians to entertain the guests.
Food and drink was flowing throughout the evening and we just had such a wonderful time, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. So Sarah and I now share the same surname and I can now be referred to as the evil step mother in law.
I would like to thank. Flowowers, Delicate Daisy, Ruth Knight photography, Sassibeau Stylists, and all friends and family for a great day!
